EG-Groepsvrijstellingen Verticale Overeenkomsten en Motorvoertuigendistributie
European competition law pays close attention to distribution agreements and other vertical agreements (such as supply and purchase agreements). Since 1 January 2002, such agreements must comply with the conditions set out by Regulation 1999/2790 to benefit from a block exemption. In this book, the authors explain the analysis that has to be made in order to verify whether an agreement can benefit from a block exemption. Particular attention is paid to the conditions for the application of the block exemption, hard core restrictions and restrictions that are subject to strict conditions (non-compete obligations).
The authors also discuss the EU rules applicable to motor vehicle distribution.
The book also provides a solution to practical issues and in so doing incorporates the experience of the authors in advising and assisting companies before the European and Belgian competition authorities.
