I am a specialist in EU and Belgian competition law. I handle antitrust, merger control and State aid cases, as well as general EU law matters (EU freedoms, Structural Funds...).
As head of contrast’s State aid practice, I advise clients on the qualification of a measure from a state aid law perspective and the manners to ensure the compatibility of an aid measure with EU rules. I also practice general commercial law, including distribution law.
I am used to assisting both private and public clients in non-contentious and contentious matters. I conduct litigation before National Competition Authorities as well as national and European courts. I strongly believe that it is better to be safe than sorry, therefore I regularly give competition law compliance trainings.
In addition, I regularly contribute to publications in the field of competition law in journals such as Journal de Droit Européen, Rechtskundig Weekblad and SEW, Tijdschrift voor Europees en economisch recht.
I joined contrast in 2016 and I am counsel since 2020.
I hold a master’s degree in Law from the University of Leuven (UCL) and obtained a DEA in European law at the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
I am a member of the Brussels bar. I speak French, English, Dutch and Italian.
